THE BRANDING STORY
ZOOM IN THE MIDWILD was born from a passion for both the untamed beauty of nature and the unifying power of photography. The name itself is a clever play on "zooming in" (a core camera function) and venturing into the "midwild"—those raw, lesser-known, middle-ground wild spaces that lie between civilization and extreme wilderness, yet hold profound beauty and ecological value.
The branding journey began with the desire to create an identity that feels adventurous yet grounded, inclusive yet purposeful. The designer drew inspiration from the act of focusing a lens on hidden details in vast landscapes, mirroring how the community encourages members to look closer at nature's wonders and its fragility. Earthy tones, organic shapes, and subtle lens-inspired motifs were chosen to evoke exploration, clarity, and reverence for the environment. DESIGNER's CHALLENGE
The core challenge was to design a brand identity that balances two seemingly contrasting elements: the excitement and creativity of photography adventures with the serious, urgent call to conservation and preservation. The logo and visual system needed to feel welcoming and approachable for beginners while conveying depth and credibility to experienced photographers and eco-advocates.
